Pot of Gold 19-07-2013 7-55-26 PM 1406x1907

This is this week's class project.  Tanya and I proved once again that no two people see things in the same way, even working from the same resource.  Pot of Gold is not for sale because it is from a project in Tom Swimm's Walter Foster book about acrylic painting.  This happens to a lot of my paintings !  What a great excuse to be forced to keep them, eh ?  I do find it helpful to be able to look at them over a period of time, and see what I would try to do differently, and also what I really like about them.

This was painted mostly with the painting knife; the blue flowers are brushwork, and the background is a mixture.  The background has been changed  considerably from the original photo; I left out the window/room scene behind the flowers, and moved my flowers off to the right.

Now I need to start thinking about the challenge/project for class this week.  Wednesdays seem to come by faster every time !
